Figurative Landscapes Drawing Series:  Ballpoint pen, Pastel on Wood

The “Figurative Landscapes” series is stream of consciousness extrapolation from existing site lines provided by wood grain.  At times silent, soft, and gliding, the drawings transform thought patterns as they recede into violent, strange, and sometimes stifled marks.  These temporal landscapes reap meaning from temporal lobe thought patters, as well as the subconscious.  They are short studies drawn together not on tabula raza, but on a natural configuration that contributes to the identifiable subject matter that oscillates often into abstraction.  From themes of aging, loneliness, excitement, physical torture and sexuality, these drawings are introspections of underlying concerns only exuded through the direct hand to subconscious coordination with ink as lubricant.
